Hello folks.... glad you stopped by. A few little notes about my latest doings:
- I’ve just completed scoring a beautiful short documentary called “Born Sweet” about a young boy in rural Cambodia who struggles with arsenic poisoning and dreams of becoming a karaoke star. The film was directed by Cynthia Wade, who won an Academy Award in 2008 for her project “Freeheld”. It will have its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January and will hopefully have a good, long run of screenings throughout 2010.
- "Loot" recently made its U.S. television debut on HBO. I provided the music for this haunting and often hilarious documentary from director Darius Marder, which parallels the epic search for stolen WWII treasure with disarmingly powerful resurrections of the past. It won the Best Documentary jury award at this year's L.A. Film Festival and earned a Spirit Award nomination in the Lacoste Truer Than Fiction catagory. It's truly an amazing film... catch it if you can, and I promise you won't be disappointed.
- "Enjoy The Struggle" is a new song of mine that's available right now as a free download, exclusively from the fine folks at RCRD LBL.
- My instrumental track "Tarnation" recently made an appearance in SMart, the seminal art-appreciation program for children from the BBC that began its new season in January. The song was also recently featured in a series of Italian TV ads for 3 Mobile starring comedy actress Luciana Littizzetto. For those who don't already know, you can download a free MP3 of this song right here...
- "Drawn to Dust" is my debut album of songs performed under the name Camphor. You can download a couple of tracks from the record for free right now from the Friendly Fire Records website. Also be sure to check out my first effort as a music video director... the clip for the Camphor song "Castaway" had its premiere on Pitchfork. Look for a new video soon...
- "Ill Seen Ill Sung" , the latest full-length record from my other band Timesbold, is out now... additionally, we assembled a great little limited edition mini-album called "Slight of Hand"... more information about both can be found on the Timesbold website.
