Howdy folks.... glad you stopped by. A few little tidbits about my latest doings:
- My instrumental song "Tarnation" is currently featured in an ad for Three Mobile in Italy. The spot is called "Troppa Tecnologia" and stars comedy actress Luciana Littizzetto. It airs on TV and in the cinemas throughout the summer. For those who don't already know, you can download a free MP3 of this song right here...
- I recently did scoring work on an AMAZING documentary film called "Loot", a haunting and often hilarious debut from director Darius Marder which parallels the epic search for stolen WWII treasure with disarmingly powerful resurrections of the past. Playwright Sam Shepard called it "a powerful evocation of fathers, sons, war and time, that sneaks up on you like a thief in the night", and I couldn't agree with him more. I'm really pleased to say it just won the Best Documentary jury award at this year's L.A. Film Festival! With a little luck a theatrical release should materialize soon...
- "Drawn to Dust", the debut full-length album from my band Camphor, is now available in the U.S. and Canada. A fall 2008 release in Europe is currently in the works... stay tuned for more information on that front. Meanwhile, you can download a couple of tracks from the record for free right now from the Friendly Fire Records website. Also be sure to check out my debut as a music video director... our clip for the Camphor song "Castaway" recently premiered on Pitchfork!
- My "other" band Timesbold also has a new full-length record out now called "Ill Seen Ill Sung". Additionally, we assembled a great little limited edition mini-album called "Slight of Hand"... more information about both can be found on the Timesbold website.
- Late last year I scored a short film called "The Winged Man", which was written by Academy Award nominee José Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries). It'll be making appearance on the worldwide festival circuit throughout the coming year, so please be on the lookout.
